Yah Ribon is one of the most popular zemirot, traditionally sung on Friday night. Written in Aramaic, it was composed by the 16th-century kabbalist, Israel Najara, and is based on Daniel 3:32–33. Beginning by praising the King of Kings and describing the wonders of God's creation, the song concludes with a prayer that God redeem Israel and restore Jerusalem.
This singable, popular melody was composed by Israel Goldfarb in the mid 20th century.
